History of NLP New Code
Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) has inspired and supported countless people since the 1970s.
But in the 1980s, John Grinder developed with Carmen Bostic St. Clair and Judith Delozier the New NLP Code - an evolution that offers a revolutionary approach to working with your unconscious.
The New Code was developed by John Grinder in response to some of the flaws in classical NLP. Its aim was to put the emphasis on the user, and to reinforce personal congruence and work with the unconscious. The New Code introduced methods that went further and made change more sustainable.
The main differences
Classic NLP
-
Works primarily at the level of conscious behavior
-
Uses techniques such as anchors, submodalities and targeted resource selection
-
Enables change through conscious intervention
NLP New Code
-
Focus on your unconscious
-
Uses innovative New Code games to generate high-performance states
-
Emphasizes personal congruence and ecological change
New Code NLP focuses on state changes rather than behaviors - creating natural access to resources beyond your conscious mind.
The benefits of NLP New Code
-
Effective changes: Changes are not consciously programmed, but are brought about naturally by unconscious processes.
-
Optimized Performance Games: New Code's unique games activate both hemispheres of the brain, using all the senses. So you can generate states of optimal performance simply and sustainably.
-
Self application: New Code NLP emphasizes self-application and is a powerful tool for your personal development.
-
Depth and lasting durability: By working at the unconscious level, changes are not only effective, but also long-lasting.

-
New Code works directly with the subconscious, often dissolving limiting thought patterns and blockages in just a few sessions. Athletes can overcome mental barriers faster and reach their full potential.
-
Specific high-performance protocols facilitate access to flow states – crucial for peak performance in competition. New Code helps to “switch off” the mind and act intuitively.
-
Setbacks and defeats are part of sport – but how you deal with them determines long-term success. With New Code techniques, athletes develop greater mental resilience.
-
New Code techniques are easy to learn, practical to implement and do not require long analyses. Coaches can integrate them directly into their work – with immediately noticeable results for their clients.
